Letter from Ruth Callanta

Dear Friends,

We are heartbroken by the news that our community partners and staff have been severely hit by the recent typhoon. At the time that we have just started relief operations in Bohol, another calamity struck the Visayas region.

As of the latest, there are 1,500 community partners and households in Roxas affected, 3,000 in Ilo-ilo, 970 in Coron, and still have yet to know the number of families affected in Puerto Princesa and Mindoro.

We are still trying to establish communications with our co-workers in Tacloban and the 35 partner churches from the same area.

CCT, by God's grace, is mobilizing all the funds and relief goods that we can get to send to the affected areas. Some of our team members and doctors are now in Capiz assessing the damage and providing medical help. We praise God for the several churches and individuals who have expressed their desire to partner with CCT. Our Ka-Partner Network friends have also launched a fundraising site, http://philippines.causevox.com, to gather donations from the US. We are also coordinating with the Philippine Red Cross for us to go to Tacloban whether by air or land that we may help locate and secure our partners.

We invite you to join us in this effort of helping our community partners and staff in whatever way we can.

Let us continue to pray and seek the Lord! May God bless us all!

In His Service,
Ruth S. Callanta
President, CCT
